PASTELS new class starting

BASIC DRAWING AND PAINTING
You've always known you had talent, and now you have a little time to spend on yourself. Learn to draw, from the basics! With demonstrations and careful one-on-one lessons, Betsy will start you drawing in black and white. Learn how to sketch the things you see, then how to draw the forms and shadows, perspective and create a pleasing composition. Drawing techniques will be introduced. Color and painting techniques will be introduced. Bring a sketchpad and erasers, we'll provide the rest.

PORTFOLIO CLASS - Portfolio Series
Instructor:: Round out your portfolio for college submission. Our instructor reviews portfolios for students applying to college art programs, teaches Drawing and Design for RIT. Don't let another semester go by and get caught unprepared during your busy senior fall application time ! Ongoing class.

CAST SILVER JEWELRY: RINGS AND PENDANTS
Design and create your own silver ring or pendant. Take your concepts to the drawing board, then build or carve in casting waxes. The wax forms become the molds for the casting of silver, which will be done professionally for you. Then you will clean, buff and polish your jewelry. Make several and pay extra only for the silver.

PORTRAIT PAINTING in Oil

One of the portfolio series designed to encourage young artists to grow in their skills and develop their repertoire. Work with a variety of media, experiment with techniques. Discover your own style. Learn to paint with acrylics.

DRAWING FIGURES & FACES - Portfolio Series
Learn how to render people, likenesses, hands and feet: the really tough stuff when it comes to drawing people! Loosen up with several quick gesture drawings of live models, then focus on longer studies of the human form. This is a necessity for the future art major's portfolio. Models will be clothed. Bring a kneaded eraser and a large drawing pad.

PAINTING IN OILS AND ACRYLICS

SATURDAY MORNING CLAY
Learn to throw on the pottery wheel, experiment with handbuilding and sculpting tehniques, and let yourself play with clay! You can choose what to make and Jessica will be there to help you out.
