LITTLE MASTERS

Come join Miss Pamela in a fun-filled art environment where we'll learn about the great masters from art history! We'll explore techniques and artists from the past and then create our own "masterpieces" in those styles. We'll make prints in the vivid style of Andy Warhol, paint trees in the style of Cezanne and explore the outdoors to find the ingredients to make "prehistoric cave paintings!" For returning artists we'll continue to explore other wonderful famous artists. Ages5 -8.

CREATIVITY WORKSHOPS

Skill building disguised as messy fun! Emphasis is on self expression and self discovery. No one is ever too young or too old to find your artistic voice! A grand variety of media includes: water color paints to paper mache clay, and creative contsruction with gadgets and parts. Drop-ins welcome.

2-D IN THE STUDIO - Portfolio Series

One of a portfolio series designed to encourage artists to grow in their skills and develop their repertoire. Work with a vast variety of media, experiment with techniques. Discover your own style. Learn to paint in water based oils. Artists will also take field trips to exciting places like the zoo, the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Rochester Museum and Science Center to draw the exhibits from life.

PAINT, PASTEL & CLAY

Explore the "formal" elements of art in an informal manner. Use a wonderful variety of art materials. Charcoal, pastel, oil stick, paint, monoprint, clay. For the kid who wants it all! Snack provided.

FUN FRIDAYS

An array of different media will be introduced to your young scholar in this class. Beginning with an exploration of drawing and painting, dabbling with printmaking, and finishing with ceramics, children will discover that artists can wear many different caps. Snack provided.

ART FUNDAMENTALS FOR HOMESHOOLERS

Develop your skills in drawing and painting while using the basic elements of art: line, shape, space, value, color, texture. Learn how to use charcoal, pastel, paints and colored pencils. Find inspiration by looking at works of famous artists. Personal instruction is geared to each child. Class limit of 10. Instructor :: Debra McHargue (585-669-2577)

SATURDAY MORNING CLAY

Learn to throw on the pottery wheel, experiment with handbuilding and sculpting techniques, and let yourself play with clay! You can choose what to make and Jessica will be there to guide and inspire you. Students take home permanent glazed pieces. All of your supplies are included. Call Jessica for details: 585-313-6565.

ADVANCED DRAWING

Learn more advanced techniques in drawing and painting. Sketching, composition, color, perspective tips and techniques for transparent and opaque paints, pastels and pencils will be explored. Explore still life, landscape and life drawing.

DRAWING FIGURES & FACES - Portfolio Series

Learn how to draw people, likenesses, hands and feet: the really tough stuff when it comes to drawing people! Loosen up with several quick gesture drawings of live models, then focus on longer studies of the human form...a necessity for the future art major. Supplies and model fee included. Models will be clothed.

SUMMER ART DAY CAMP 9:30-4:30
Around the ’Falls, with Debra McHargue

Take a tour of Mill Gallery, then hike to picturesque sites in
historic Honeoye Falls to sketch. Picnic by the falls on Honeoye
Creek, and finish the details back at the Mill. Enjoy sketching
animals, creek landscapes, architecture and gardens. Collect
treasures found on our hikes for a collage. Join in on tales of
local history and legend. Wear sport sandals for wading in the
creek! Wear a suit under your clothes if you want to get wet.
Real summer fun!
Pencils, pastels and paints provided. Bring your sketchbook,
water bottle and lunch.

CLAY MORNINGS, ARTFUL AFTERNOONS! 9:30-4:30

9:30-12:30 Clay and summer---a perfect combination!

Dig into clay each morning with Jessica Kanaley, try sculpting
and throwing onthe potters wheel. We will experimentwith techniques
like combining coloredclays, slip painting and creating unique
stamps in clay. Nature will inspire us aswe hunt for new forms and textures out
doors. Dress in mud and painting clothes!
12:30-1:30 Bring your lunch and we’ll enjoy summer picnicking
outside on lovely days.

1:30-4:30 The afternoons will be filled with a delightful variety
of art excursions and studio projects. Mon and Weds design
and create masks or shadowboxes with Jane O’Donnell
Abby Castle or Sal Clinton . Tues
and Thurs discover painting and art history with Sal Clinton.
Fridays venture out to draw summer landscapes on our nature
trails around the village with Betsy Taylor. Bring a sketchbook.
Art supplies and snacks provided.

Half-Day Art Camps

Ages 4 to 7 EARLY YEARS 9:30-11:30 AM

Art day camp for the little ones in
the village where country life slices right through town.
Our beautiful summer mornings will be filled with creative fun with Miss D.J.
.Listen to a story, relax under a shade tree.
Wade in the creek, collect grasses, flowers and rocks.
Paint a picture. Make a print, sculpt in clay.
Bring your sketchbook and we’ll also draw, draw,
draw! Save your art for our annual student show.

(7year-olds will be placed on an individual basis and may do
1/2 day or full day, depending on the mix of the class.
Class minimum is 5, maximum is10).
