LITTLE MASTERS
Little artists will work in the studio in a class geared specially for 3 1/2 to 6 year olds! We'll be learning about the art of some of our favorite masters. Then we'll paint sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh, create patterns and bright colors in the style of Matisse, and make paper "Cubist" collages in the style of Picasso!

ART DAY CAMP!
Hike to picturesque sites, picnic by the falls and finish the details back at the Mill. Bring a sketchbook, water bottle and lunch in a backpack. Enjoy sketching animals, creek-scapes, architecture and gardens. We'll provide charcoal, colored pencils, pastels and paint.

EARLY YEARS 1/2 DAY ART CAMP
Art day camp for the little ones! Miss Debi will read a story, then take young artists for a short walk in the neighborhood. Bring a sketchbook to draw in. We'll wade in the creek, relax under a shade tree, and draw! We'll collect pretty stones, flowers and leaves for fun summer projects.

Parents and children will have their own instructors to explore the art experience at Linwood Estate. Bring your lunches and we'll all have a picnic together on the grand lawn after spending the morning drawing in different locations. Individual classes resume for the afternoon, pastel for the adults, drawing and painting for the children. At day's end share your works and experiences.

We will provide you with all sorts of art media and bring some larger papers on drawing boards. Meet at Mill Art Center at 9:50 AM. We will drive our personal cars, so there is a 9 student daily limit. (call and reserve your spot early).
Return at 4:30 PM depending on the distance we are traveling. If we are going to be later we will phone ahead. We have many other wonderful locations if the weather doesn't cooperate.

2-D IN THE STUDIO
Use a wide variety of artistic media and discover new and different approaches to the creation of art. Learn about various styles and apply techniques in any way that you wish! We'll provide charcoal, colored pencils, pastels and paint, etc.

Pottery, PASTELs & paint - NEW
On Monday learn about throwing basics on the wheel with clay. On Tuesday finish up your clay pieces and add handbuilding details to it, and make little ceramic animals. On Wednesday discover the possibilities of oil and chalk pastels. On Friday experience acrylic and tempera painting techniques. For the kid who's curious about it all kinds of art!

DRAWING FIGURES & FACES - Portfolio Series
Learn how to render people, likenesses, hands and feet: the really tough stuff
when it comes to drawing people! Loosen up with several quick gesture
drawings of live models, then focus on longer studies of the human form. This is a necessity for the future art major's portfolio. (Models will be clothed.) Supplies provided.

CERAMIC SCULPTURE AND WHEEL THROWING
Be part of the Luminous Earth community of artists, and see how your work cangrow in our supportive and inspiring atmosphere. Work alongside professional clay artist Robin Whiteman, and have some fun. Beginners are welcome.
Drop in fee per class is $25, and includes your own box of clay, glazes, firing. Additional clay can be purchsed.

BASIC CARTOONING
We will begin with basics; character drawings, story telling, exaggeration and expression. We will then explore story ideas to make simple three panel comics. After that, we will learn about comic book page design and create our own story. If we are adventurous, we will dive into full comic book design, cover to cover. Bring your creative juices and spiral bound sketchbook to keep ideas for character development all in one place.

THIS IS WHAT I SEE!
Each child brings a digital camera, or can take turns with Tara's. We talk about what interests them, learn a little about photography, then they're set free to capture images from their point of view. Together we'll review the pictures, make selections and print. Then the children will put up a gallery show and host their own Exhibit for the public!

If you like to write, join us with a creative classs that will be the bridge that connects your own photographic images with your personal poems. Bring a journal and a camera. We'll traipse about the area taking pictures with our poetic images in mind, then work with the photos in the classroom, using Photoshop on the computer. We'll print and display our finished works.

JEWELRY: SILVER RINGS AND PENDANTS
Design and create your own silver rings or pendants for a necklace. Take your concepts to the drawing board, then build or carve in casting waxes. The wax "rings" become the molds for the casting of silver, which will be done professionally for you. Then you will clean, buff and polish the rings during the final class. Colleen will give you 6 dates to select your 4 classes from: The first class is mandatory; then select 2 work days. Your creations will then be taken to be cast. Finish your jewelry on a final work date. (This is for flexible summer life. Not bad!)
