Ella Senglaub is a current PhD candidate interested in helping communities connect with art, culture, and the stories that shape our shared spaces and collective memory. She holds a B.A. from New York University in both Social & Cultural Analysis and Art History, where she also minored in Medieval and Renaissance studies. In May, Ella completed her M.A. in Art Law and Arts Management at the International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki, Greece. Ella’s research explores how museums, landscapes, and visual as well as material culture influence what we remember, bridging the past and present in meaningful ways through different artistic lenses. Growing up with a deep appreciation for art and lots of time spent in nature, Ella became fascinated by how people make sense of their identity through art, local traditions, and the natural world around them. She has presented her work at international conferences, including at the Acropolis Museum in Athens, and has held positions in galleries, cultural institutions, and community organizations in both the United States and Greece. At the Mill Art Center & Gallery, Ella looks forward to working closely with staff, artists, and community members to support exhibitions, educational programs, and public events. She loves translating complex historical ideas into engaging activities and believes that art becomes most powerful when it is shared and experienced together. This passion guided her academic journey and her commitment to accessible arts education. When she’s not working on her research or studies, Ella enjoys exploring new art exhibitions, practicing her Italian and Greek, and going for walks with her four-legged friend, Gracie.
