Learn methods that help you SEE and draw from observation of your environment including still life, landscape and the human figure. Denise and Lanna will guide you in exploring drawing techniques and a range of media that will enhance your ability to creatively interpret what you see.

Day 1 - Denise and Lanna will work as a team to guide you through drawing simple forms from observation using gesture, contour line, value and a variety of drawing media to establish a vocabulary of the drawing elements line, shape, value using a range of drawing media.

Days 2-3 Presenting 1 project each over the next two sessions that will introduce you to methods for creating a drawing that has a strong composition and an exciting visual presence.

Day 4 will be team teaching and time for further development of drawings based on group feedback.

Student will need to bring:

Ebony pencil, Mars Staedtler white plastic eraser and a small bottle of waterproof black ink. All other materials will be supplied by the Mill Art Center
